Syracuse Hillel provides pluralistic and egalitarian Shabbat and holiday experiences for students during the academic year. All Shabbat and holiday meals are kosher and under the supervision of the Va'ad of Syracuse.
Syracuse Hillel hosts weekly Shabbat services and meals during the academic year at the Winnick Hillel Center. Shabbat starts at 5PM with candle lighting followed by a student-led service and a delicious kosher meal.
Syracuse Hillel hosts services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur at the Winnick Hillel Center and Hendricks Chapel. We also provide holiday meals for Erev Rosh Hashanah, dinner on day one of Rosh Hashanah and break fast following Yom Kippur.
During Passover, Syracuse Hillel hosts 425 students for our First Seder on the floor of the Carrier Dome. For the second night, we hold a more intimate Seder at the Winnick Hillel Center. Hillel also serves kosher for Passover lunches and dinners during all eight days of Passover.
