    • 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Rosh Hashanah Evening Service 

      • Location: Hendricks Chapel

        • *Candlelighting is 7:04pm, Sunset is 7:22pm

    • 7:00 p.m. First Night Rosh Hashanah Dinner 

      • Location: Goldstein Auditorium, Schine Student Center 

  • Saturday, 9/12 

    • 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. First Day Rosh Hashanah Morning Service 

      • Location: Winnick Hillel Center for Jewish Life 

    • 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. First Day Rosh Hashanah Lunch 

      • Location: Winnick Hillel Center for Jewish Life 

    • 5:45 - 6:45 p.m. Rosh Hashanah Tashlich Service 

      • Location: Meet at Winnick Hillel Center for Jewish Life at 5:45pm for a short walk OR at the Thornden Park Lily Pond (near the E.M. Mills Rose Garden) at 6:00pm

    • 7:00 p.m. Second Night Rosh Hashanah Dinner 

      • Location: Winnick Hillel Center for Jewish Life 

        • *Candlelighting is 8:02pm

  • Sunday, 9/13

    • 10:00 a.m. departure for off-campus 2nd Day Rosh Hashanah services   

      • Location: Meet at Winnick Hillel Center for Jewish Life at 9:45am to depart for Congregation Beth Shalom - Chevra Shas (local conservative synagogue)

    • 5:30 - 6:30p.m. Pre-Fast Dinner

    • 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Kol Nidrei Services

        • *Candlelighting/fast begins at 6:47pm, Sunset at 7:05pm  

  • Monday 9/21

    • 10:00 a.m. Yom Kippur Morning Service

    • 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. Yizkor

​​Please Note: All students are able to miss class for religious observances and are able to make up examinations, study or work missed in accordance with the religious observances policy. Students must notify their instructors of their observances through MySlice starting in late Aug. and by the deadline of Sept. 14th this semester. However, if you plan on requesting Rosh Hashanah off, please get your MySlice request in before  Rosh Hashanah begins, which starts at sundown on Friday, September 11th. 

 

We also recommend emailing your professors directly well in advance of the holidays, even if there's just a chance you'll observe them in order to avoid any negative consequences for missing class or making up work due to High Holy Day observances.
